I am an artist currently based in Columbus, OH. My work is primarily based in incorporating mixed media like textiles and plaster into paintings to lend a more sculptural element, pushing the paintings’ textural and physical qualities.

I’m heavily influenced by my own experiences with memory and the mechanisms in which the brain and body process loss and grief over time. I let this subject act as the foundation for my exploration of the intentions behind painting -  decisions made by the artist in order to achieve a certain result.

By focusing on the painted surface becoming its own structure, my paintings work to move the viewer to think about how memory can take shape in the form of painting.
